The Good food guide celebration dinner with Simon Rogan and Jason Atherton at Lenclume , Cartmel. Opportunities like this don`t tend to crop up every week up here in Sunny Cumbria, so as soon as this special Good food guide celebration dinner came up on my radar i grabbed the chance to sample what two of the U.K`s leading chefs would be creating whilst teamed up together in the kitchen of one of my favourite restaurants , Lenclume in Cartmel , south Lakes.
Simon Rogan , one of our countries finest chefs trained with Marco Pierre White and Jean Christophe Novelli before leaving London several years ago and setting up Lenclume restaurant in Cartmels old Blacksmiths shop.Jason Atherton also trained under Marco in London and worked under the legendary Nico Ladenis. He then went to finishing school in the worlds number one restaurant El Bulli in Roses , Spain.Jason returned home and headed up Maze for Gordon Ramsay in Grosvenor square , London.Jasons own restaurant , Pollen street social will be opening April 2011 and is already getting lots of good pre-opening positive press.Good luck from Cumbria , hope all goes well.
Here`s the meal , start to finish , 16 courses in all and each chef taking a turn course by course throughout the meal. The food speaks for itself , Enjoy.
